Course books are progressive books that take you through a subject in order. That’s what a Bookverse course is: a book, in chapters, aligned to the syllabus the language is actually tested against. Not an endless pool of exercises with no beginning and no end.

Built on the standards that matter

Every course is anchored to an official framework:

  • Mandarin — HSK 3.0, the current Chinese Proficiency Standards. This is the deepest course: Band 1 alone is 45 chapters. Vocabulary, grammar and characters are mapped to the band lists, and when a dialogue borrows a word from a higher band, the chapter says so explicitly — you always know what is on-syllabus.
  • Korean — TOPIK, next in line.
  • Japanese (JLPT), Spanish (DELE), French (DELF), German (Goethe), Russian (TORFL), Portuguese (Celpe-Bras), Indonesian (BIPA), Vietnamese (KNLTV) and Thai follow the same blueprint. The course roadmap shows where each one stands.

The shape: course → band → chapter

A course divides into bands — proficiency levels matching the official framework. Each band is a book of ordered chapters, and each chapter is a complete unit: dialogues, vocabulary, characters or script work, a grammar lesson, and cultural notes where they belong.

You work through a band in order. Today’s chapter builds on yesterday’s: vocabulary recurs, grammar compounds, and the same cast of characters runs through the dialogues. Finish the band and you have covered a defined, testable level of the language.

The Bookverse dashboard: current course, band and chapter, with today's study items

One book at a time

Bookverse doesn’t scatter your attention across six parallel tracks. You pick a course and a band, and the dashboard shows one thing: your current chapter and what’s left in it. You can switch courses or bands any time in Settings — progress in every book is saved — but at any moment, “what should I study now?” has one answer.

Not just languages

The same structure also powers experimental courses beyond languages: Mathematics mapped to the Australian Curriculum (F–12), and nursing subjects anchored to NCLEX-RN. Early days for these, but the premise is the same: a real curriculum, in order, with review built in.
