Bookverse is not a game. There are no points, no leagues, no gems, and nothing nags you. You open it, study your chapter, close it.

Here is what that means in practice.

Two stats, no games

The dashboard shows a day streak (consecutive days with a completed study session) and this month (days studied this calendar month; it resets on the 1st). That is the entire stats system.

The streak is information, not a mechanic. It is not wired to bonuses or penalties. Losing it costs you nothing.

Reminders: asked once, scheduled locally

Bookverse asks once whether you want a daily study reminder, offered at your own usual study time. Say no and it never asks again. The setting stays in Settings if you change your mind.

Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. There is no server-side notification campaign, and no “your streak is about to expire” message exists in the app.

No ads

The app contains no advertising and no third-party ad or tracking SDKs. The business model is subscriptions: free during the open beta, and the first chapters of every course stay free after it. You are the customer, not the product.

Speech audio is transcribed, then discarded

Speaking practice records short clips of your voice. Each clip is transcribed and then discarded — not stored, not used for anything else. That commitment is written into the privacy policy. Listening audio never leaves your device at all: it’s generated by your device’s own text-to-speech voices.

The one strict part

The study flow won’t silently skip a step you haven’t done. That’s the only place the app pushes back. Everything else stays out of your way.
