Habits: म … -छु, तिमी … -छौ, ऊ … -छ
Explanation
For things you do regularly, drop the -नु of the dictionary form and add -छु, -छौ or -छ: गर्नु → म गर्छु "I do", पढ्नु → म पढ्छु "I study". Verbs like खानु keep an n: म खान्छु, तिमी खान्छौ, ऊ खान्छ. With म it is always -छु: म चिया खान्छु. "म चिया खान्छ" uses the ending for ऊ "he, she". खानु is used for tea and for rice alike: चिया खानु "to drink tea", भात खानु "to eat rice".
Examples
- म चिया खान्छु।I drink tea.
- मनेपालीपढ्छु।I study Nepali.
- तिमी के खान्छौ?What do you have? (familiar)
- ऊ फुटबल खेल्छ।He plays football.

Asking politely: तपाईं … -नुहुन्छ
Explanation
With तपाईं and उहाँ, the verb keeps its -नु and adds -हुन्छ: खानु → तपाईं खानुहुन्छ "you eat", गर्नु → तपाईं गर्नुहुन्छ "you do". To ask: तपाईं के गर्नुहुन्छ? "What do you do?" The answer is about yourself, so it takes -छु: म नेपाली पढ्छु.
Examples
- तपाईं के खानुहुन्छ?What will you have?
- तपाईं के गर्नुहुन्छ?What do you do?
- उहाँ नेपाली पढ्नुहुन्छ।She studies Nepali.
- तपाईं फुटबल खेल्नुहुन्छ?Do you play football?
