Die App läuft in 12 Sprachen, und die Kurse sind Zeile für Zeile übersetzt — lerne Koreanisch auf Deutsch, Mandarin auf Spanisch, ohne Umweg über Englisch.
Bookverse runs in 12 languages, and the course content itself is translated line by line. If your first language is Vietnamese, you learn Korean with Vietnamese explanations — not Korean-to-English in the app, then English-to-Vietnamese in your head.
The 12 languages
English, 中文, Tiếng Việt, ไทย, 한국어, 日本語, Bahasa Indonesia, Español, Português, Français, Deutsch, Русский. Your language setting drives two things:
- The interface — navigation, study prompts, buttons, reminders.
- The course translations — every dialogue line, vocabulary item and lesson shows its meaning in your language, alongside the original text.
This is in the course data, not machine-translated on the fly. A single Korean dialogue line in Bookverse carries written translations in the other 11 languages of the platform. Where a specific translation hasn’t been written yet, the app shows English instead of showing nothing.
Any course, from any language
Because every course carries the full translation set, the pairs multiply: Japanese for Spanish speakers, Mandarin for Vietnamese speakers, Korean for Thai speakers. Most apps simply don’t serve these pairs.
It also works for polyglots: set the app to Spanish and learn Russian. Your Spanish stays in use while your Russian grows.
One setting
Language is a single account setting. Change it in Settings once and the interface, the course translations and your study prompts follow — on the web, on Android, on every device you sign in from.
What it looks like
Open a Mandarin dialogue with the app set to Vietnamese: the Chinese text leads, pinyin appears when you reveal it, and the meaning line is in Vietnamese. The study flow is the same in every language — see read, listen, speak.
The courses stay anchored to each language’s official syllabus — HSK 3.0 for Mandarin, TOPIK for Korean, JLPT for Japanese — whichever language you study them in. See structured courses.
