Plans and invitations

I'm going to study。We're going to watch a film。「be」の部分(am / is / are)が不可欠 — ただの「going to」ではなく「I'm going to」。招待するときは「Do you want to come?」や「Would you like to …?」。 I'm going to meet a friend。

I going or I'm going? I'm going?

  1. Emma What are you going to do this weekend, Minsu?
  2. Minsu I going to meet a friend. We going to watch a film. (間違い:「be going to」には「be」が要る:「I'm going to…」「We're going to…」;韓国語に「be」はないが英語は残す)
  3. Emma Don't forget the "be": "I'm going to meet…", "We're going to watch…". 「be」を忘れずに:「I'm going to meet…」「We're going to watch…」。
  4. Minsu Ah, I'm going to meet a friend, and we're going to watch a film.

Do you want to come?

  1. Emma I'm going to have a party tonight. Do you want to come?
  2. Minsu Yes, I'd love to! What time?
  3. Emma At seven. Are you going to bring anything?
  4. Minsu I'm going to bring some food. See you tonight!

I'm going to meet a friend I'm going to meet a friend

To talk about plans, use "be going to" + the plain verb. The "be" changes with the subject: I'm going to study. He's going to work. We're going to travel. That little "be" (am / is / are) cannot be dropped — the pattern is "I'm going to", not "I going to". To ask, put "be" first: "What are you going to do this weekend?" To invite someone, use "Do you want to + verb?" or "Would you like to + verb?": Do you want to come? — Yes, I'd love to. / Sorry, I'm busy.

I'm going to study。He's going to work。We're going to travel。その小さな「be」(am / is / are)は落とせない — パターンは「I'm going to」であって「I going to」ではない。尋ねるときは「be」を前に:「What are you going to do this weekend?」相手を招待するには「Do you want to + 動詞?」や「Would you like to + 動詞?」:Do you want to come? — Yes, I'd love to。/ Sorry, I'm busy。

  • I'm going to study English tomorrow.
  • We're going to have a party this weekend.
  • What are you going to do tonight?
  • Do you want to come? — Yes, I'd love to!
