English · CEFR Band 1 (A1) · Chapter 30

Plans and invitations Planos e convites

Falar do futuro. Para dizer o que tencionas fazer, usa "be going to" + verbo: I'm going to study. We're going to watch a film. A parte "be" (am / is / are) é imprescindível — não é só "going to", é "I'm going to". Para convidar, pergunta "Do you want to come?" ou "Would you like to …?". O coreano não tem verbo "be", por isso os coreanos omitem-no e dizem "I going to meet a friend"; em inglês mantém-no: I'm going to meet a friend.

I going or I'm going? — I going ou I'm going?

  1. Emma What are you going to do this weekend, Minsu? O que vais fazer este fim de semana, Minsu?
  2. Minsu I going to meet a friend. We going to watch a film. Eu going to encontrar um amigo. Nós going to ver um filme. (deslize: "be going to" precisa do "be": "I'm going to…", "We're going to…"; o coreano não tem "be", mas o inglês mantém-no)
  3. Emma Don't forget the "be": "I'm going to meet…", "We're going to watch…". Não te esqueças do "be": "I'm going to meet…", "We're going to watch…".
  4. Minsu Ah, I'm going to meet a friend, and we're going to watch a film. Ah, vou encontrar um amigo, e vamos ver um filme.

Do you want to come? — Queres vir?

  1. Emma I'm going to have a party tonight. Do you want to come? Esta noite vou fazer uma festa. Queres vir?
  2. Minsu Yes, I'd love to! What time? Sim, adorava! A que horas?
  3. Emma At seven. Are you going to bring anything? Às sete. Vais trazer alguma coisa?
  4. Minsu I'm going to bring some food. See you tonight! Vou trazer alguma comida. Até logo à noite!

To talk about plans, use "be going to" + the plain verb. The "be" changes with the subject: I'm going to study. He's going to work. We're going to travel. That little "be" (am / is / are) cannot be dropped — the pattern is "I'm going to", not "I going to". To ask, put "be" first: "What are you going to do this weekend?" To invite someone, use "Do you want to + verb?" or "Would you like to + verb?": Do you want to come? — Yes, I'd love to. / Sorry, I'm busy.

Para falar de planos, usa "be going to" + verbo simples. O "be" muda com o sujeito: I'm going to study. He's going to work. We're going to travel. Esse pequeno "be" (am / is / are) não pode ser omitido — o padrão é "I'm going to", não "I going to". Para perguntar, põe o "be" à frente: "What are you going to do this weekend?" Para convidar, usa "Do you want to + verbo?" ou "Would you like to + verbo?": Do you want to come? — Yes, I'd love to. / Sorry, I'm busy.

  • I'm going to study English tomorrow. Amanhã vou estudar inglês.
  • We're going to have a party this weekend. Este fim de semana vamos fazer uma festa.
  • What are you going to do tonight? O que vais fazer esta noite?
  • Do you want to come? — Yes, I'd love to! Queres vir? — Sim, adorava!
