Japanese · JLPT Band 1 (N5) · Chapter 9

おとうとが います 我有一个弟弟

Otōto ga imasu

用 imasu/arimasu 表示存在和拥有:有生命的用 imasu(Otōto ga imasu——我有一个弟弟;Neko ga imasu),无生命的东西用 arimasu(Hon ga arimasu)。存在的事物用 ga 标记。用 dare(谁)问人。文化:uchi 和 soto。假名:把家庭词汇都串起来,流畅地朗读整句。

おとうとが います — 我有一个弟弟

  1. Yuki マイクさんは おとうとが いますか。 迈克,你有弟弟吗?
  2. Mike はい、おとうとが あります。 是的,我有一个弟弟。(错误:对人用了 arimasu)
  3. Yuki ひとは「います」ですよ。「おとうとが います」。 对人要用 "imasu"。"Otōto ga imasu"。
  4. Mike あ、おとうとが います。ねこも います! 啊,我有一个弟弟。我还有一只猫!

あの ひとは だれですか — 那个人是谁?

  1. Ken マイクさん、あの ひとは だれですか。 迈克,那个人是谁?
  2. Mike あれは あにです。あにも います。 那是我哥哥。我也有哥哥。
  3. Ken みんな いっしょですね。 大家都在一起呢。
  4. Mike はい、かぞくは とても いいです。 是的,我的家人非常好。

Explanation

日语的动词会根据存在的事物是否有生命而变化。人和动物用 imasu;书、钟等无生命的东西用 arimasu。存在的事物用 ga 标记:Otōto ga imasu(我有一个弟弟)、Hon ga arimasu(有一本书)。很多语言对两者用同一个动词,但日语把它们分开——要注意。(表示地点的 "X ni Y ga arimasu" 在第 2 册。)

Examples

  • おとうとが います。 我有一个弟弟。
  • ねこが います。 有一只猫。/ 我有一只猫。
  • ほんが あります。 有一本书。/ 我有一本书。

うちと そと Uchi 与 soto——内与外

日语时刻都在区分某人是 uchi(你群体内)还是 soto(群体外)——而这会改变你所用的词本身。家庭词汇是最清楚的第一个例子。

每个亲属有两个词

Talking about your own family to others, you use humble terms: chichi (my father), haha (my mother). Talking about someone else's family, you use respectful terms: otōsan, okāsan. Same person, different word, depending on whose group they are in.

为什么重要

Calling your own father otōsan to an outsider sounds like you are elevating your own group — slightly off. The humble chichi signals modesty about your uchi.

不止于家庭

Your company, school, and team are all uchi too; you speak modestly about them to outsiders and politely about their group. This is the seed of Japanese politeness logic. Inside the family, though, kids do call their parents otōsan/okāsan — the humble chichi/haha are only for referring to them with outsiders.

不确定时:对别人谈自己的家人 → chichi/haha;谈别人的家人 → otōsan/okāsan。
