在越南，空闲时间通常与日常的小乐趣以及身边的人相连。能用越南语说出一个爱好——「Tôi thích cà phê」（我喜欢咖啡）、「Tôi thích bóng đá」（我喜欢足球）——是搭话、结交朋友最简单的方式。
咖啡与聊天
Drinking coffee is a big part of free time. People sit at a sidewalk café on low plastic stools, drink iced coffee with milk (cà phê sữa đá), and chat for hours. A café is not only for drinking — it is a place to meet friends, read the paper, or just sit and watch the street. If someone invites you "đi cà phê" (to go for coffee), they usually want to talk, not really for the cup of coffee.
晨间运动
Early in the morning, parks and lakesides are full of people exercising. Older people do tai chi or gentle "dưỡng sinh" movements, younger ones jog or play "đá cầu" (foot shuttlecock), and many groups play badminton. Around Hoàn Kiếm lake in Hanoi, the whole city seems to wake up together at dawn. In the evening, small football pitches and badminton courts fill up again. Sport here is usually a group affair, cheerful, not much about winning or losing.
卡拉OK与聚会
At the weekend, family and friends often gather to eat together. Karaoke is very popular — at a shop, at home, or even on a wheeled speaker in the yard. You do not need to sing well, just to have fun. Vietnamese people usually eat around one shared tray, pick food for each other, and stay chatting long after the meal. For many, the best free time is being with family and friends.
