Mua sắmShopping
Shopping vocabulary: mua, bán, cửa hàng, chợ, siêu thị, khách hàng, người bán, hàng, đồ, mở cửa. Key grammar: "muốn + verb" to say what you want to do — muốn mua, muốn bán. When counting items, remember the classifier: "muốn mua hai cái áo" (not "hai áo"). English speakers often forget the classifier because English has none — "hai áo" ✗ → "hai cái áo" ✓. Tone corner: the tones in the shopping words.

Muốn + verb (remember the classifier)
Explanation
To say what you want to do, use "muốn + verb": muốn mua, muốn bán, muốn ăn. No word goes between "muốn" and the verb. To ask: "Bạn muốn mua gì?". When counting things, remember the pattern you learned: number + CLASSIFIER + noun — "hai cái áo", "ba quyển sách". English speakers often drop the classifier because English says "two shirts" with none — "hai áo" ✗ → "hai cái áo" ✓. Common classifiers: "cái" (objects), "quyển" (books), "chiếc" (paired items/vehicles).
Examples
- Tôi muốn mua cái này.I want to buy this.
- Bạn muốn mua gì?What do you want to buy?
- Tôi muốn mua hai cái áo.I want to buy two shirts.
- Người bán muốn bán nhiều hàng.The seller wants to sell a lot of goods.
