Explanation

Chapter 9 taught 佢喺茶餐廳 "he's at the café". After 喺 there can also be a position instead of a named place: 呢度 "here", 嗰度 "there", 前面 "in front", 後面 "at the back". 廁所喺後面 "the toilet is at the back". 你嘅咖啡喺呢度 "your coffee is here". Ask with 喺邊度？ and answer with a position in its place: 廁所喺邊度？ 喺後面.

Explanation

For "on the table", say the thing first, then the position: 枱 "table" + 上面 "on top". 手機喺枱上面 "the phone is on the table". 遮喺枱下面 "the umbrella is under the table". People work the same way: 喺你後面 "behind you", 喺我前面 "in front of me". The 上 of 上面 is read soeng6, not the soeng5 of 上堂 (chapter 16).
