Что ты будешь делать завтра?What will you do tomorrow?
Making plans and inviting. Vocabulary: план, завтра, вечером, выходные, пригласить, приглашение, кино, кафе, встретиться, вместе, пойти. Key grammar: the perfective future is ONE word, like the present: пойти → я пойду (I'll go), купить → я куплю (I'll buy), поехать → я поеду (I'll go/travel). The imperfective future is "буду" + infinitive: "Я буду читать" (I will read/be reading). But you must not mix them: English speakers take "буду" plus a perfective infinitive, like "I will go" → "Я буду пойти" ✗ → simply "Я пойду" ✓. Inviting: "Давай пойдём в кино!" (Let's go to the cinema!), "Хочешь пойти?" (Do you want to go?). Answering: "Давай!" (Let's!), "С удовольствием!" (With pleasure!) or "Извини, не могу" (Sorry, I can't). Reading corner: the letter "й" (short "i"/"y") in "давай", "пойдём", "выходной".

The future: "я пойду", not "буду пойти"
Explanation
Russian has two futures. The first is simple (perfective): the verb changes like in the present tense but means a future, completed action: пойти → я пойду (I'll go), ты пойдёшь; купить → я куплю (I'll buy); поехать → я поеду (I'll go/travel). This is ONE word. The second is compound (imperfective): "быть" (to be) + infinitive, for a process or repetition: "Я буду читать" (I will read/be reading), "Мы будем гулять" (we will walk). Rule: "буду/будешь" combines ONLY with an imperfective infinitive. Typical mistake: English speakers translate "I will go" literally as "буду" + a perfective infinitive: "Я буду пойти" ✗. That is impossible! Correct is one word: "Я пойду" ✓. You invite with "Давай(те)" + the we-form: "Давай пойдём в кино!" (Let's go to the cinema!), "Давай встретимся в кафе" (Let's meet at a café). Or "Хочешь пойти?" (Do you want to go?). Answers: "Давай!" (Let's!), "С удовольствием!" (With pleasure!), "Извини, не могу" (Sorry, I can't).

Буква «й»: краткое «и» в «давай», «пойдём»— The letter "й": short "i" in "давай", "пойдём"
The letter "й" ("i kratkoye", short i) is not a vowel but a short glide "y", as in English "boy". It stands next to a vowel and closes a diphthong. So "давай" = "da-VÁY" (like "bye" at the end), "пойдём" = "pay-DYÓM", "выходной" = "vy-khad-NÓY", "чай" = "chai". Do not confuse "й" with "и": "и" is a full vowel (кино = "ki-NÓ"), while "й" is only a glide. Listen: "мой", "твой", "пойду" — a short "y" at the end of the syllable everywhere. Read the words aloud.
