กี่โมงแล้วWhat time is it?
Telling the time. Ask "ตอนนี้กี่โมงแล้ว" and answer "… โมง" — Thai does NOT use "เป็น" for time: just say "เจ็ดโมง", not "เป็นเจ็ดโมง". English speakers often add "เป็น" (from "it is"). Morning uses "โมงเช้า" (7-11), เที่ยง (noon), บ่ายโมง/บ่าย…โมง (afternoon). The formal system uses "นาฬิกา". Half hour uses "ครึ่ง": เจ็ดโมงครึ่ง. New words: ตอนนี้, โมง, นาฬิกา, นาที, ครึ่ง, เช้า, บ่าย, เย็น, เที่ยง, ตรง. Pronunciation corner: the tones of "โมง, บ่าย, เที่ยง".

Telling time (no "เป็น")
Explanation
Ask the time: "ตอนนี้กี่โมงแล้ว". Answer with just "number + โมง": เจ็ดโมง, แปดโมง. Thai does NOT use "เป็น" for time — English speakers translate "it is" as "เป็นเจ็ดโมง", but "เจ็ดโมง" is enough. In the morning (7-11) add "เช้า": แปดโมงเช้า. เที่ยง = 12. Afternoon adds "บ่าย…โมง": บ่ายสองโมง (14:00). Half hour uses "ครึ่ง": เก้าโมงครึ่ง. Minutes use "…นาที": แปดโมงสิบนาที. The formal system uses "นาฬิกา": เจ็ดนาฬิกา.
