Saying goodbye: 再見, 拜拜, 聽日見
Explanation
再見 and 拜拜 both mean "goodbye" (拜拜 is from chapter 1). To say when you'll meet again, put the time before 見: 聽日見 "see you tomorrow", 星期日見 "see you on Sunday". Adding a name or title is more polite: 再見,何老師! When parting late in the evening, you can also say 早唞 zou2 tau2 "good night".
Examples
- 再見,何老師!Goodbye, Ms Ho!
- 星期日見!See you on Sunday!
- 拜拜,聽日見!Bye, see you tomorrow!

More, less, again: 多啲, 少啲, 再
Explanation
After a verb, 多啲 means "more" and 少啲 "less": 講多啲 "speak more", 驚少啲 "worry less", 食多啲 "eat more", 食少啲 "eat less". It is the same 啲 as in 平啲 "cheaper" (chapter 13). 再 before a verb means "again": 再講一次 "say it once more", 聽日再嚟 "come again tomorrow". 再見 is "see again": goodbye.
Examples
- 你要講多啲。You need to speak more.
- 唔該再講一次。Please say it again.
- 聽日再嚟吖!Come again tomorrow!

中秋節做乜嘢?What happens at the Mid-Autumn Festival?
The Mid-Autumn Festival has mooncakes and lanterns. The full, bright moon stands for the family coming together.
When is it?
The Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋節 zung1 cau1 zit3) falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, at the full moon, between 7 September and 8 October.
In Hong Kong, the public holiday is not the festival day itself but the day after.
Mooncakes
People eat mooncakes (月餅 jyut6 beng2), usually filled with sweet-bean or lotus-seed paste. Sharing them stands for the family being complete.
Lanterns
Lanterns (燈籠 dang1 lung4) of every shape are carried and hung up, and some have riddles on them.
Neighborhoods in Hong Kong put up lantern displays, the biggest in Victoria Park, and Tai Hang holds a fire dragon dance dating from the 19th century.
