ทางและทิศทาง Roads and directions
Direction vocabulary: ถนน, เลี้ยว, ซ้าย, ขวา, ตรงไป, สี่แยก, มุม, แผนที่, ทาง, ข้าม. Key grammar: give directions with verb + direction, no preposition needed — "เลี้ยวซ้าย" (turn left), "เลี้ยวขวา" (turn right), "ตรงไป" (go straight). English speakers, used to "turn TO the left", tend to add "ไป" — "เลี้ยวไปขวา" ✗ → "เลี้ยวขวา" ✓. Add a place with "ที่": "เลี้ยวขวาที่สี่แยก" (turn right at the intersection). Tone corner: the tones in the direction words.

- Somchai ไม่ต้องมี "ไป" ครับ แค่ "เลี้ยวขวา" No "ไป" needed. Just "เลี้ยวขวา".
- James อ๋อ ตรงไป แล้วเลี้ยวขวาครับ Oh, go straight, then turn right.

To say where to turn, add "ที่ + place" (remember ch14): "เลี้ยวขวาที่สี่แยก" (turn right at the intersection), "ตรงไปถึงมุมถนนแล้วเลี้ยวซ้าย" (go straight to the corner then turn left). A common chain: "ตรงไป แล้วเลี้ยวซ้าย ตลาดอยู่ทางขวา" (Go straight, then turn left, the market is on the right).
