The arc's last chapter: pointing at the world. Questo and questa — «this one here, near me» — agree like any adjective: questo mercato, questa piazza. From afar you point with quello («that one there»), receptive only for now. The new words are the heart of the Italian town: la piazza, il mercato, la posta, il centro. And the culture section tells the ritual that holds them together: the piazza as living room, and the evening passeggiata.

Questo and questa — pointing with agreement
Explanation
To point at near things Italian uses questo — and questo behaves exactly like an -o/-a adjective: questo mercato, questa piazza; in the plural, by chapter 11's lines: questi ragazzi, queste case. It can stand alone (Questo è il centro) or sit attached to the noun (questo bar) — the agreement never changes. The question Che cos'è questo? and the answer Questa è la posta are the pair with which you explore any town. For FAR things there is quello — «that one there» — which for now you only need to understand: its full forms dress up like the article (quel bar, quello studente, quell'amico) and arrive in Band 2. A passeggiata tip: ecco (chapter 4) and questo work together — Ecco la piazza! Questa è la piazza del mercato. Point, name, agree: with this chapter the «numbers and questions» arc is complete.

La piazza e la passeggiataThe piazza and the passeggiata
Every Italian town, big or small, has a main piazza — and the piazza is not just a space between buildings: it is the town's living room. Understanding the piazza means understanding how Italians spend time together.
The town's living room
In the piazza happens the life that elsewhere happens at home: kids play, grandparents watch and comment, friends arrange to meet «in piazza» with no need to say more. Around it stand the bar, the church, often the market — and people do not cross the piazza: they STAY in it. Sitting on a bench or at the bar's little tables watching the world is not wasted time: it is an activity, with an unofficial but very serious name — fare piazza.
The passeggiata
Toward evening, before dinner, Italy leaves the house and walks — slowly, with no destination, dressed a little better than necessary. This is the passeggiata: up and down the main street or around the piazza, greeting whoever you meet, stopping to talk, maybe with a gelato in hand. It is not exercise and it is not for getting somewhere: it is being seen, seeing others, and closing the day together. In small towns it is almost a standing appointment; in big cities it survives on weekends and summer evenings.
The centro storico
«Andiamo in centro» is a sentence you will hear every day: the centro storico — narrow streets, old buildings, the piazza in the middle — is where the town was born, and still today it is where you go for the market, the post office, the coffee and the passeggiata. Many historic centers are closed to cars: you walk. And note the language: in centro, no article — like in piazza. For the places of the heart, Italian drops even its beloved article.
Next time you are in an Italian town, run the experiment: at six in the evening, sit in the piazza and watch. You will see the passeggiata arrive — and with this arc's words (c'è, ci sono, dove, questo, quello) you can already narrate everything you see.
